Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust Restoration of HMS Gannet (1878)
I write to confirm that Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust is very happy to provide a testimonial to your company’s services and workmanship demonstrated during the major restoration works that you undertook to the former HMS Gannet.
This was a complex project, undertaken with a limited budget under close scrutiny by the Trust and the projects principal funder, the Heritage Lottery Fund. The restoration works included major deck and hull structure repairs, complete re-coppering, re-masting and re-rigging and the reconstruction of deck housings and other structures.
The work was completed on time and budget to a high standard following original methods and techniques in accordance with the ship’s conservation plan.
